A Bottle and a Book
Words and Music by Christopher White

I think I’ll spend tonight in solitude,
I do not mean to be rude,
But I am in the mood, to settle down,
And lie with a bottle and a book.

I hope I don’t offend my greatest human friends,
Or cause you to give me dirty looks.
I hope you’ll understand a very lonely man,
Who’s longing for his bottle and his book.

And so goodbye, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
That is, if I wake in time for tea.
I’ve got a date with two others that I know,
Namely William Shakespeare, and Don Bacardi.
